The Insurance Chronicles From Mitch Mitchell (Episode 5) Choosing the Best Agent, Brings Better Policies
December 28, 2015

In my previous blogs I have shared stories about the importance of having the right insurance agent to represent you. So how do we even know who to choose or what choices are the right choices to make? Here are few tips that might help when choosing the agent that is best for you:
- Visit Their Websites – Websites are full of information. You can read about the history of the agency. Longevity in the business is usually proof that there is a certain level of quality service and expert knowledge involved.
- Ask An Independent Agent Questions – It is important to know what type of coverage you really need, so you are not spending more money than is necessary. The best way to find that out is from a knowledgeable, experienced agent. Listen to their answers and how they answer you. Even if they are knowledgeable, you should feel as though they respect you, genuinely care about educating you and you should have a sense of their integrity. As you ask questions you will get a feel for their knowledge and how much they care about their customers.
- Consider Independent Agents – Independent agents have flexibility, because they can represent different companies. As opposed to agents who are employees of their companies and can only sell their company’s products. In this day and time people like flexibility and to have more product choices, but they also like the convenience of having it all in one place. Talking to an independent agent can make you aware of the many choices that are available to you.
